Mission Ministry of
Mt. Olivet Baptist

People need the Lord!

As followers of Christ our #1 Priority is to go throughout the entire world and tell others the Good News that Jesus Saves.
The Missions Ministry of Mt. Olivet Baptist, working with other ministries in the church, provides various opportunities for individuals to use their spiritual gifts and share the love of Christ in our community and around the globe.
If you like to travel and serve in other areas, if you like to stay local and provide food to those in need or if you desire to be involved in a project that shares the Gospel to children across the globe—the Missions Ministry is the place to get involved
at Mt. Olivet Baptist.

Closet of Hope (3rd Wednesday of Each Month)

Many people in Wilson County live with little or no hope for what tomorrow may bring. Each month the mission of our Closet of Hope is to provide a hand up to those in need by providing for their immediate physical needs and share HOPE available through Jesus Christ who provides for our spiritual needs. Each month, on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, at 4:30pm the Closet of Hope opens its doors to the community. A box of assorted dry good foods, racks of gently used coats and packs of diapers and wipes for infants are made available to those in need.

Operation Christmas Child

Each year Mt. Olivet Baptist Church packs hundreds of shoeboxes for boys and girls all over the world. We see this as a “Little Box of the Love of Jesus.” MOBC is also a collection center for the local area where 1000+ boxes are collected, processed, packed and delivered to an area site.
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization headed by Franklin Graham. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 146 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories. For many of these children, the gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.

Joseph Storehouse Mission Assistance

Every other month, individuals from our church travel across town to work in a large local food bank that provides food and counseling to hundreds of families in the Wilson County area. Come and let God use you to be a blessing to our neighbors.

Summer Mission Opportunities

During the Summer months we enjoy traveling to other parts of our state and beyond to assist churches with Vacation Bible School. Each year we plan on at least two trips.
