When Faith Doesn't Make Life Easier
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

We often assume that doing the right thing should make life easier. But Joseph’s story reminds us that faithfulness doesn't always produce immediate results. Sometimes we make the right choice and still face disappointment, unfairness, or delay. That is where faith moves beyond words and becomes trust.
The real question in those moments isn't simply, “What should I do?” It is, “Do I still trust God when I don't understand what He's doing?” Faith doesn't require us to have all the answers. It calls us to believe that God's presence and goodness remain true—even when our circumstances don't seem to cooperate.

Who are you Becoming?
Most of our spiritual growth happens in moments that don't look very spiritual. Our character is shaped by the small choices we make every day: how we respond when we're frustrated, what we say when nobody is listening, whether we choose integrity when nobody is watching, and how we treat people who can't do anything for us.
We don't have to wait for a major test to demonstrate our faith. The little choices of today are preparing us for the bigger choices of tomorrow. Every day gives us opportunities to become a little more like Jesus—not through one dramatic moment, but through a thousand ordinary decisions.

Trust God with the Outcome
One of the hardest parts of faith is doing what we know is right and then releasing the outcome to God. We can choose obedience, integrity, patience, forgiveness, and trust, but we cannot control what happens next. Sometimes God changes the circumstances; sometimes He changes us in the circumstances.
So this week, instead of asking only, “When is God going to change this?” ask, “What is God forming in me through this?” Then focus on the next faithful step. We don't have to know the whole plan to trust the One who does.
